Price Increases of Cocoa

A note on cocoa pricing, it’s increase and organic things!

you’ve probably heard about the rising price of cocoa and thankfully it hasn’t been super drastic for me, but there has been a recent hike, which means some of your favourite products (mainly easter eggs, praline paste and drinking chocolate) will go up in price to reflect this price increase.

at this same time, I’ve transitioned all sugar used to an organic raw sugar (which you can imagine is more expensive too) as there has been an increased amount of awareness to eat organically so from now on, I’ll be making an effort to only use organic where possible.

it’s a tricky one with organic cocoa though, as reaching a certified “organic” status costs - money that small farms and communities don’t have. the ecuadorian cocoa I use is not organic certified however the use of pesticides is kept to a minimum if not avoided in their cultivation. the samoan cocoa is organic and is used in the following chocolate blocks: coconut praline dark chocolate, black forest and macadamia gold crunch.
